These Woods I Know —

This unique monochrome painting evokes the quiet familiarity of a woodland remembered rather than simply observed. Tall, slender trees emerge from a softly receding landscape, their forms appearing almost like fragments of memory.

At the heart of the composition, the exposed canvas becomes part of the image itself, allowing emptiness and silence to play an important role. The restrained palette creates a feeling of stillness, while the vertical forms suggest both rootedness and the passage of time.

These Woods I Know is a quiet reflection on memory, place and belonging — on the landscapes we carry within us, even when we are far from them.
